The Student Council at St. Joseph's School consists of students from the fourth through eighth grades.

We are on this council because we like to have a voice in some of the things that go on at our school. We do our best to make this a better place to be and help people in our community.

Some service projects that the school participates in are: Operation Christmas Child; sponsoring Estiven, and monthly food drives.

For Operation Christmas Child, students bring in shoe boxes to fill with toys and necessities to donate to children in countries that are less fortunate.

We also fill a shoe box that goes to Estiven, a young boy who lives in Honduras. Every 10th day of the month, St. Joseph's students bring in 10 cents to donate to him.

Throughout the school year, every 25th day of the month, we conduct a food drive. Grades were assigned a certain food to bring in and donate.

Our school community tries to make a big difference in some of the small things we can do.

Game review: Need for Speed NITRO

We played Need for Speed NITRO (EA Games for the Wii).

This game is fun to play at home with others or solo. It is a racing game with many options, including races, drifting challenges and last man out. These are a lot of fun.

The better you do, the more credits and points you earn. You can buy better cars as you get more points, such as the Lamborghini Reventon.

RATING: 3 out of 5

Now that's funny

Two cartons of yogurt walk into a restaurant. The waiter, who was a tub of cottage cheese, says to them, "We don't serve your kind in here."

One of the yogurt cartons says back to him, "Why not? We're cultured individuals."
