The Asian fusion restaurants, they come and they go. Asia Taste in Hauppauge has closed after less than a year. The Thai-Japanese restaurant took over the former digs of Lo Piccolo’s Pizzeria & Ristorante in the Smithtown Bypass strip mall anchored by Giunta’s Meat Farms.
In her two-star review, Newsday’s Joan Reminick appreciated the serene atmosphere — “none of the blaring techno music and neon lighting common to so many Long Island Asian fusion restaurants” and praised the Thai soups and curries, and fresh, well-executed sushi.
