St. Rocco's Bakery (4 St. Rocco Place, Glen Cove): You might stop by this traditional Italian bakery for the cookies and bread, but don’t leave before you try the excellent pizza, baked in a wood-burning brick oven. Talluci's Pizzeria (1249 Melville Rd., Farmingdale): The inspiration for her bacon, egg and cheese pie, says Danielle Cataffo of Talluci’s in Farmingdale, were the crowds of college students coming from Farmingdale State College across the street. “We’re right across from a college and next to a bagel place. Suburban Eats (610 Broadhollow Rd., Melville): Look carefully on the breakfast menu at this busy gourmet deli and you will see in between the breakfast quesadilla and the garden omelet the No. 7, a breakfast pizza topped with scrambled eggs, diced bacon and shredded cheese. Sophia's Pizza Cafe

Sophia's Pizza Cafe (2060 Ocean Ave., Ronkonkoma): This restaurant, which opens at 8 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends, offers three kinds of breakfast pizzas: The Hungryman, with eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and mozzarella; the Veggie, with eggs, spinach, mushrooms, mozzarella and Cheddar cheese; and the Western, topped with eggs, ham, peppers, onions and mozzarella. Rigatoni's Pizza & Pasta (160 Adams Ave., Hauppauge): This pasta and pizza place opens at 6 a.m. to serve workers in the Hauppauge Industrial Park, so it’s not surprising that it has pizza on the morning menu. Grimaldi's (980 Franklin Ave., Garden City): On Saturdays and Sundays between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., the coal-fired brick oven at this Garden City pizzeria produces personal pizzas topped with scrambled eggs and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham, as well as a couple of egg-and-vegetable combos.
