Burger restaurant Frizzles closes in Commack
Could Long Island be reaching the burger saturation point?
Less than six months after it opened, Frizzles in Commack has, apparently, fizzled.
The quick-serve burger-plus eatery opened in June at the busy intersection where Route 454 branches off from Jericho Turnpike. The spot, once home to an unlovely auto-repair shop, had been transformed by the owners, described by managing partner Mike Krumenacker as a “close-knit group of lifelong buddies.” They repaved the parking lot and erected a big, stylish restaurant.
The restaurant went dark earlier this month, and no one picks up the phone. A handwritten note taped to the front door says “closed” with no other information.
