For views of the Peconic River and a menu of family recipes, consider Case’s Place, a new restaurant serving lunch and dinner scheduled to open on the New Suffolk waterfront on Memorial Day weekend.

In a space that had been the Galley Ho, the restaurant will be run by Maryann and Ken Birmingham, the couple who steered Riverhead Beef Butcher Shop from 1995 to 2005.

Named for Maryann’s family, Case’s Place will serve food such as Manhattan clam chowder, a raw bar, burgers, sandwiches and fish tacos. The desserts will come from her grandmother’s trove of recipes, including shortbreads and seasonal fruit crumbles. Expect prices from $5 to $15 for starters and sandwiches.

Following a build out spearheaded by the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund, the location now boasts a new kitchen, a refurbished bar, a beachy dining room and a restored dock.

Diners can arrive by land or by sea, since there’s an extensive parking lot as well as boat slips.
