Another one of Long Island’s landmark restaurants is no more. Bid adieu to the venerable Old Fields Inn, located by the LIRR tracks in Greenlawn.
It was old school steak (the marinated Delmonico a perennial favorite) in an old-time setting. In winter, the fireplace added to the ambience. So did the rumble of passing trains.
