When Theresa Caputo appears at an event, tickets sell out fast.

That's been the case so far, as every expo or gathering Caputo — aka the “Long Island Medium” — previously worked has drawn a full house to see her ply her craft, which she says is the ability to link with the spirits of people who have died as she meets with those looking to connect with loved ones who have passed.

Whether one falls under the description of “believer,” nonbeliever” or just “not sure,” all can acknowledge the success of her TLC network reality program, which has received strong enough ratings in two seasons to garner a third to come. For Long Island residents, “Long Island Medium” is also a draw due to its frequent background showcasing of Nassau County as she goes about her business, making every episode a chance to spot a familiar person or place.

On Thursday, Aug. 16, Caputo will once again take on an Island gig, this one scheduled for 7 p.m. at Carlyle at the Palace (1600 Round Swamp Rd., Plainview). Presented by Connoisseur Media and WKJY “KJoy” 98.3-FM, her appearance is more than just a meet-and-greet, as the night will include gallery-style medium readings while benefiting the John Theissen Children’s Foundation.
