Art in the Park in Northport

Art and fresh air are common companions. Throw in live performances, art and craft vendors and a clown and you’ve got Art in the Park, presented by the Northport Arts Coalition on Saturday.
To kick things off, about 20 artists will set up their paintings, jewelry, photography and other works available for purchase in large tents at Northport’s park overlooking the water.
At noon, belly dancing and Middle Eastern dancing will be performed by a professional dancer and students in the gazebo. Local singer-songwriters will perform folk and country music between 1 and 4 p.m., followed by a featured poet and open mic to close the performances.
Feel free to bring out the kids, who will be entertained by a local clown. Though food will not be sold, there are restaurants within walking distance. So enjoy the sights, sounds and smells!
