Battle of the BBQ Brethren
Nice weather and hungry people mean one thing: barbecue!
But no summer cookout will be considered a success without awesome food. If your barbecue is facing subpar burgers and franks, you should try to pick up some tips at the 4th Annual Battle of the BBQ Brethren in Holtsville Aug. 7 and 8.
The event will feature competitors making food in four categories: brisket, pork shoulder, ribs and chicken. Competing teams will have two days to cook before turning in their final dishes during a two-hour window on Sunday to be judged on taste, tenderness and appearance.
The competition will feature 30 plus teams including the award winning Smoke In Da Eye team that has been featured on CNN, Food Network, Serious Eats and Eatocracy.
