Country night opens at Dublin Deck in Patchogue

In 2011, we saw the sudden emergence of country music nights on the Island; by the end of the year there were a number of parties where patrons could line dance and hear the hits of the boot-scooting genre – and those parties are still going strong.

As proof: Yet another Southern-styled soiree has popped up, but unlike the others, it adds an extra: the possibility of open air.

Starting Wednesday, the Dublin Deck in Patchogue will host a Hump Day Hoedown, a weekly bash that will be held until its season ends in the fall.

Like other clubs that have put together country nights, Dublin Deck will have a DJ, live bands and line dancing, with Six Gun set for the opener. 

But unlike most other bars and lounges that have evenings set aside for honky-tonk enthusiasts, Dublin Deck is a mostly outdoor establishment, set along the Patchogue River – so chances are anyone coming to promenade will also get a good look at the night sky.

Doors open at 6 p.m.; $4 Corona Lights is the drink special, and there's no cover to enter.
