As most nightspot regulars will tell you, Thursdays are a big night for lounges, bars and DJ events – so, one could get away with saying that every weekend is a three-day weekend when it comes to the club scene. Here are three very different events that could keep you dancing until Sunday arrives:

“Latin Quarter Thursdays” at Four Food Studio in Melville

Fans of Latin grooves have this new, upscale weekly bash (starting Thursday, Nov. 3) that offers dinner and dancing. The evening opens with a special menu that will feature “Latin-inspired” dishes (instead of the usual autumn/ seasonally-centered selection), as well as half-priced drinks until 9 p.m. To follow, DJ J will lay down all sorts of genres – salsa, merengue, bachata – in addition to Top 40 and more mainstream dance beats. No cover to attend, but guests are asked to dress to impress. <>

Erick Morillo at Glo in Westbury

Meanwhile, over at the Island’s mega-club, Erick Morillo returns for another likely packed-house party (on Friday, Nov. 4) starting after 10 p.m. His best-known effort comes from the track he produced as part of act Reel 2 Real, super-hit “I Like To Move It,” a song that migrated from clubs to the pop charts, then further as a staple at weddings and Sweet 16 – even as part of the "Madagascar" film soundtrack. However, as a club DJ he has won several awards for being one of the world’s most-popular mixers, and spins his brand of dance around the globe. Tickets are available in advance for $30, likely $35-$40 at the door; dress to impress and best advice would be to arrive early or face a possibly tremendous crowd.

”BassKicks: The Leaves Fall And The Bass Drops” at Broadway Bar in Amityville

On the other hand, if you like your beats off-beat rather than big and well-known, this event set for Saturday, Nov. 5, is not just a chance to hear alternative electronic music, but an opportunity to catch local talent in action. Starting at 10 p.m., a collection of DJs from Long Island will take to the mixing board and play cutting-edge material that, while may not ever be heard in the Island’s larger local venues, has a major following in NYC. 18 and over is allowed, but while 18-20 pay $8 ($5 with an RSVP), guests 21 and over are in free.
