DJ Theo is getting the party started at the Neptune Beach Club in Quogue. Theo (aka Theo Pisani) is a native Long Islander who has received international recognition with his “Nervous Nitelife: Summer Clubbing” releases – yet he keeps many of his live mixing sessions in Nassau and Suffolk counties (he is the resident DJ of Neptune). Many other celebrity DJs came to the Island in 2011, such as Tiesto, Danny Krivit and Paul Oakenfold -- to name a few. (May 28, 2011)

There are always places to go to dance on the Island, but the warm weather opens venues that are otherwise shuttered between the chill of fall and the beginning of spring — and those establishments tend to bring in some of the biggest names in the dance music industry to spin at their parties. The result: nightclub goers get a brief chance to catch these celebrity DJs on the Hamptons circuit or by the water (or both) in person and in the mix. Here are three of those summer-only spots that are featuring big names in their booths this weekend:
Although he seems to have graduated to working at some other clubs this year during the weekends, DJ Theo will be back at the spot he is most identified with, the Neptune Beach Club in East Quogue on Saturday, June 30 for a daytime session starting sometime after 1 p.m. One of the Island’s most successful DJs, Theo has made a name for himself, putting out albums (the “Nervous Nitelife” series on the Nervous Records label) and spinning at clubs around the East Coast and overseas on the club mecca island of Ibiza. Opening sets by Gabe Ramos and Chris G; arrive early as long, long lines are very likely.
