With passion for EDM on Long Island still rising, it’s less and less surprising to find bars and clubs featuring nights where bass-powered subgenres of dance spin regularly. However, if one seeks a “day” to feel some furious beats instead, consider the “Drum and Bass BBQ.”
Returning for an eighth year, this party once again sets up under the sun (rather than during the usual late-nights hours of the club scene) from noon-8 p.m. at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford on Sunday, July 1. This party has had a long-lived run, and as always, the group throwing this bash (drum and bass record label/ artist management and booking agency Driven AM) expects all who attend to leave the grounds in the same condition it was in before anybody had arrived.
DJs for the day are mostly New York-based (Driven AM’s Strife and Dave Shichman, Tanktop NYC plus Bohemia’s Adred), although Chicago’s Submorphics and Australian DJ Dust are also scheduled to handle the music. There’s no cover charge, but anyone who isn’t a Nassau County resident (or does not have a Nassau County leisure pass) will have to pay $5 to park. Guests are also asked to bring their own food for the grill, and in addition, this party has an alcohol permit – so if you are of age, feel free to BYOB.
