Traditionally, Halloween is a one-day happening that takes place exclusively on Oct. 31.

But with this year’s haunted holiday falling on a Thursday, Halloween 2013 has been stretched into a half monthlong period of masquerade merriment.

In other words, whether celebrations were attended last weekend (Oct. 25-26), mask-loving Long Islanders will be getting another large dose of Halloween parties starting on Nov. 1.
