Already responsible for the massive EDM event ”Carnifest” (back on April 20) and other sizable bass-powered parties since the year began, the Get Down production and event team will be holding yet another lengthy dance bash, this one set for the weekend after the Fourth of July at Cheers in Smithtown (1044 Jericho Tpke., 631-670-6491).

The night is being called “IndepenDance,” and on Friday, July 6, Get Down will join forces with Esoteric Entertainment (also an EDM-powered event group) to bring more than a half-dozen DJs to this gathering to spin drum-and-bass, dub, trance and other sorts of beats that don’t receive much attention from mainstream nightspots. Mixers announced to be on the bill include Kryzt0z and Projekt Exp (from Get Down) plus Skidz (Esoteric) and Nick @ Nite (from Neon East, a different DJ group), while patrons will also enjoy live performances from rapper Philthy Phil and band A New Bug.

It all starts at 7 p.m., and is scheduled to last until 4 a.m., meaning a good nine hours of EDM for all who attend. The cover is $5 for women, $10 for men and is open to all 18 years of age and older.
