Ever considered a paddle ride to the bar? A stand-up paddle ride?

From the "new-to-do" department of nightlife, Main Beach Surf & Sport of Wainscott is hosting "Ladies Night Out Paddle Journeys" every Wednesday (until Sept. 3) from 5-7 p.m.

Everyone meets at The Boathouse restaurant and lounge in East Hampton for this watery sunset tour of Three Mile Harbor, completed via "stand-up paddling" (SUP) -- which is exactly what it sounds like: paddlers stand up on boards and paddle themselves along. But for this "Ladies Night" event, female guests are asked to show up en masse ready to go out, in summer dresses and skirts (however, guys are invited to participate as well) and get ready to hit the water.

Once the harbor has been successfully circumnavigated, all may head up to the Boathouse bar for a night of half-price drinks.

The cost is $65, which includes board rental and guidance from Main Beach Surf & Sport SUP instructor Evelyn O'Doherty.
