Marine helicopters coming to Eisenhower Park

The MV22 Osprey will be at Eisenhower Park on May 29.
More than 200,000 will fill the sands and boardwalk at Jones Beach for the annual air show on both Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. It's a lot of fun . . . and a lot of people.
If you're looking for an aerial alternative to that experience, head over to Eisenhower Park in East Meadow on Saturday, May 29, at 10 a.m. for "Raid New York."
A U.S. Marine helicopter squadron will be landing at Eisenhower's Kite Field to kick off a day's worth of aerial demonstrations and events.
One of the featured aircraft will be the MV22 Osprey (pictured above), a multi-mission tilt rotor aircraft designed to combine the functionality of a helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop. CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters and AH-1W Cobras will also be on hand.
After performing some aerial acts, the aircraft will be on display for attendees to get a close-up look. Free camouflage face-painting, too!
And it's all free.
