There’s no question The Nest Bar & Lounge in East Meadow has a proclivity for the past, but this evening’s party will flip the calendar back several decades.

Starting at 8 p.m., it will be “Prohibition Night” at The Nest, and the idea is to implement a Roaring ‘20’s-inspired game plan. The lights will be dimmed and replaced by candles, the TVs will be covered; anyone planning to attend is asked to don 1920's-style clothes (think “Boardwalk Empire”), with a pair of Islanders tickets to be awarded to the best-dressed – and while the 1980s and 1990s songs normally heard here are already not exactly current, for this bash the disc jockey will be playing jazz all night.

Guests will be able to choose from a list of drinks inspired by old cocktail recipes, as well as an option of a “Black and White Cookie” stout from San Francisco’s Speakeasy Ales & Lagers brew company. For more information, check out The Nest online at facebook.com/TheNestBar – and if you do decide to take part, remember to enter you’ll need to head to the back door, and tell the sentry “the birds” sent you (and the password is “meatball”).
