Runners who want to take part in the Long Island Festival of Races — aka, the Long Island Marathon and Half-Marathon and the shorter 10k, 5k and 1-mile runs — can save on fees if they enter by Friday, Jan. 21.
The early bird fee for the marathon jumps from $50 to $65 on Saturday, Jan. 22. The half-marathon rate goes from $40 to $55. The other races have early bird rates, too. Go to run-li.com for information and to register online.
The 1-mile, 5k and kids fun run are planned for Saturday, April 30. The 10k and longer races are on Sunday, May 1.
