The best wines for spring

The springtime wine list has variety and flair, in red, white and rose. They'd all be pleasing, last-minute choices at Easter brunch or dinner, or simply to enjoy on a beautiful day.
Try the refreshing, slightly flinty 2012 Drouhin Vaudon Chablis ($21), a terrific match with the raw bar, baked oysters, light finfish. It's also a good aperitif. Crisp and citrusy, with considerable finesse, is the 2012 Drouhin Vaudon Chablis Réserve de Vaudon ($28), a more complex selection, especially recommended with lobster, crab and shrimp.

The wine offers suggestions of peach, nectarine and citrus, as well as a companion for grilled or baked chicken and fried seafood.
And the 2012 J Vineyards Estate Russian River Valley Chardonnay ($28) delivers ripe fruit, especially citrus and pear. This is a delightful white, ideal with seafood. The winery also excels with the ruby-hued, plummy 2012 J Vineyards Estate Grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ($37), a solid accompaniment to roast or grilled lamb.
Romano Brands imports the well-priced, versatile 2010 Monte Zovo Valpolicella Ripasso ($15), a fruity red blend from Italy; and a picnic-ready Provençal, the charming 2013 Maison Belle Claire Rose ($17). For a domestic rose, consider the bright, salmon-pink 2013 Inman "Endless Crush" Rose of Pinot Noir ($25).
