Spend one night in any club that plays any sort of hip-hop, and the fact is undeniable: Old school is still hot.

Assuredly, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Big Sean and other modern artists are the main course of music for the dance floor, but sets featuring stars of the 1990s like Notorious B.I.G. and A Tribe Called Quest are always sprinkled in with frequency, with any major hit of that era fair game.

Two of those older jams that are likely to be heard are “O.P.P.” and “Hip Hop Hooray” – both chart-toppers by the New Jersey-based trio Naughty By Nature. Consisting of MC Treach, MC Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee, the crew were fixtures on hip-hop radio and in nightclubs in the '90s; even earning a Grammy Award in 1996 for best rap album. After some years apart, the three reunited in the mid-2000s; they're scheduled to release a new album, “Anthem Inc.,” Dec. 13.

But if you’d like a small taste of what ‘Naughty does, the charismatic MC Treach will be making a solo appearance at Mulcahy's Pub & Concert Hall in Wantagh on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Part of the ongoing “Southbar Saturdays” parties, the night will also bring DJ Soco (best-known for his work at Beach Bar in Hampton Bays) and Mulcahy’s regular DJ Mikey C together to play popular club beats. As for Treach, he is set to tackle some of his classics, but fans will be watching to see if he decides to test some of his new material; hip-hop MCs are known to do that).

Party starts at 10 p.m., cover is $5 – for more info call Mulcahy’s at 516-783-7500 or check muls.com or AListStatus.com.
