Bistro M, the three-star New American restaurant, hosts a welcome-to-autumn dinner tomorrow, featuring wine with each course. The dinner also will include live music. The cost: $68, plus tax and tip.

Chef Mitch SuDock plans to prepare pan-seared halibut with squash puree and artichokes in a star-anise beurre blanc; wild-mushroom bisque with scallop and pine nuts; hazelnut-crusted bison with sweet-potato pancake, escarole and pancetta, with a maple glaze; roasted figs and prosciutto with blue cheese, arugula and balsamic vinegar; and an apple-cinnamon souffle with pumpkin ice cream, gooseberries and spiced caramel.

The wines include the 2008 Casillero Del Diablo Chardonnay,  2003 Mirassou Pinot Noir, 2008 Merlot Emiliana, 2004 Nugan Estate Manuka Grove Petite Sirah, and a nonvintage sparkling wine from Kenwood.

Bistro M is at 70 Glen Head Rd., Glen Head, on the north side of the railroad; 516-671-2498.
