The brew is piping hot for Hampton Coffee Company, which opened its eighth location, in Quogue, less than a year after its Hampton Bays debut.
The historical building it took over on Quogue Street is almost 100 years old, according to co-owner Jason Belkin. Belkin owns the Southampton-based roaster with his wife, Theresa. The building was previously a pharmacy, an ice cream and soda shop, and later, a luncheonette. Now the coffee shop, it includes indoor and outdoor seating for 54 diners.
"We always get stuck, I mean that in a good way, with these special places," he said. "Every single one of our locations is special; every store has a story."

The building was renovated, but Belkin said he tried to keep as much of the history as possible intact. Inside, the walls are dotted with photos from the building’s past.
This is the second Hampton Coffee that will also function as a full-service breakfast and lunch restaurant as well as a cafe. Its Watermill site has been a sit-down restaurant and cafe for 30 years. Other locations include Center Moriches, Westhampton Beach, Southampton, Aquebogue, Water Mill and Montauk.
The menu features classic breakfast and lunch favorites, such as the veggie burger ($15.50), served on a toasted brioche roll with lettuce, tomato, pickle, fries or coleslaw.
The menu also includes a Mexican grill section with a grilled chicken whole wheat quesadilla ($15.50) and carne asada platter ($28), which is marinated skirt steak served with guacamole, pico de gallo, rice and beans.
The new cafe also serves local beer and wine from Riverhead’s Twin Forks Beer and Co. Bridgehampton’s Channing Daughters Winery.
