Hamptons International Film Festival: Where to eat

The Hamptons International Film Festival opens Thursday, showing his latest film, "St. Vincent."
But just in case N&T's is packed, here are three recommendations for one of my favorite actors and comedians -- and for anyone who'll be in the general vicinity of Main Street and Newtown Lane.
Near the movies: Rowdy Hall. The pub-bistro is one of downtown's dependables, whether you're ready for onion soup, meatloaf, the official Rowdy burger, a chopped vegetable salad, fish-and-chips or a local version of cioppino.
The very reliable East Hampton Grill immediately gets you with the buttery rosemary-honey biscuits. Then, try the fried oysters or tuna tartare, prime rib roast or rotisserie chicken. Fine crab cakes, too.
And for some serenity in the dining room and action on the plate, there's The 1770 House. The Balsam Farms beet-and-fennel salad, pan-roasted chicken with pumpkin chutney, and braised short rib with local butternut squash are among the selections.
