Cork & Slice, an Italian kosher restaurant from brothers Ed and Boris Safaniev, has opened in Cedarhurst. It’s one of a handful of new kosher restaurants on Long Island, including Amsterdam Burger Co., which also opened in Cedarhurst a few months ago.

The Cork & Slice dining room and bar display blond floors, wood tones and warm lighting that encourages an extra few minutes at the bar for a sangria, kosher wine or coffee.

Start with tomatoes and roast pepper crostini or go with polenta and haloumi appetizers. Pizzas start simple and go big, from margherita to mushroom truffle pies.

Garganelli with caramelized cauliflower is listed among pasta choices, along with bucatini layered with hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, goat cheese and baby kale.

Expect fish-focused entrees from braised snapper with capers and olives to seared tuna with marcona almonds.

Prices run from $7 to $14 for crostini, appetizers and salads; $16 to $18 for pizza; $18 to $22 for pasta; and $27 to $33 for fish.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 to 11:30 p.m., and Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. The restaurant is closed Fridays. Reservations are available for parties of six or more.

Cork & Slice is at 477 Chestnut St., Cedarhurst; 516-837-7788, facebook.com/corkandslice
