The space that once housed Deli & A Hole Lot More in Garden City is now turning out a menu of sweet, savory and trendy comfort foods under a new name: Kravingz.

Chantell Sacko opened the new restaurant along with co-owner Fatou Dioum at the end of 2018 after a two-month revamp.

“If you have a sweet tooth like me, you might want a cupcake; but your friend is in the mood for wings or loaded fries,” she said, discussing the concept for the new eatery. “We wanted to bring the best of both worlds.”

The restaurant is narrow, with one side lined with showcases filled with baked goods and gelato, and the other with a handful of small round tables. Customers can scribble what their “Kravingz” are on a large blackboard on the back wall.

From the spot’s sweet menu, choose fresh pastries like muffins, danishes and croissants, all $2.25; and desserts like cupcakes, cake pops and assorted cookies. You’ll also find gelato (most flavors are gluten-free) available in a special “Kravingz cup,” that gives off smoke. Get it with your choice of two toppings for $7.45.

The savory menu includes mac & cheese balls, wings topped with signature sauces like lemon pepper and honey bbq, and loaded french fry options like Philly cheese, pizza and hot dog, from $3.75.

A variety of hot and cold beverages  is also offered, including coffee, hot chocolate, chai lattes and macchiatos.

Kravingz is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
