Long Island Restaurant Week is sticking around a bit longer this winter — many of the event's participating eateries are extending their prix fixe lunch and dinner deals deeper in February.
Organizers say the extension was prompted by last week's snowstorm, in which some restaurants closed temporarily just as the weeklong promotion was getting underway. Nearly 100 restaurants are extending the deal, from Small Batch in Garden City (through Feb. 6) to Brasserie by Chef Aless in Massapequa to Prime in Huntington (both through Feb. 8). A list of the participating eateries is being updated on the event's Instagram page.
Originally, more than 180 eateries in Nassau and Suffolk counties offered patrons a choice of fixed-price options: Restaurants may offer a $24 two-course lunch and / or a three-course dinner for $29, $39 or $46. These menus are in effect whenever the restaurant is open, with the exception of Saturdays, when the deal only needs to be offered until 7 p.m.
