The airy restaurant at Baron's Cove in Sag Harbor is in full summer mode, with a bright dining room and the food that goes with it.
Baron's Cove is a waterfront resort, renovated in time for Memorial Day weekend. It has been a mainstay on West Water Street. The cuisine is oriented toward seafood.
Openers include a tomato-based fish stew with potatoes and croutons; a gazpacho that changes daily; pickled beet salad; local asparagus with a hard-boiled egg vinaigrette; oysters and clams on the half shell.
Main dishes take in a lobster roll, Long Island duck breast with black cherry-and-quinoa pilaf, linguine with clams, seared Montauk scallops, a lobster pot with lobsters from 1.5 pounds to 3 pounds; and daily preparations of swordfish, tuna and fluke. You also may order a 7-ounce hamburger, hanger steak, filet mignon, and a porterhouse steak for two.
