Sayville: See you Cu29; buongiorno Butera's

Sad to say, Cu29 Wine & Bistro has closed. Last December, when Newsday's Peter Gianotti gave the restaurant two stars, he described its appeal as “elemental: satisfying food, good prices, friendly staff.” Chef Sean Blakeslee's menu focused on small plates.

Exactly the opposite approach — family style platters —  is what's coming next month when the burgeoning Butera’s Italian restaurant group takes over the site. According to co-owner Laurie Butera, diners who prefer individual servings will be accommodated.
