Shelter Island charity race adds food truck after party
Feasting outdoors at food trucks is always better when you’ve earned an appetite.
Revelry on the Rock on June 18 is the first time since the Shelter Island 10K/5K Run/Walk started over 30 years ago that here will be an after party. A fundraiser for East End Charities, the race begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes Olympic medal and New York Marathon winners.
Eating and drinking begins at 7 p.m. and lasts until 11 at the Island Boatyard and Marina. There, you can grab snacks or supper from Vine Street Cafe and Marie Eiffel as well as treats from trucks such as PizzaRita, Hampton Coffee Company and Whole Le Crepe. There’s also a cash bar, shopping from Lululemon, a photo booth, gifts to buy from area jewelry makers and other venders.
Because it’s not a party without music, expect tunes from Hoo Doo Loungers and DJ Twilo.
Tickets are $10 for the after party only with kids younger than 14 free. Race registration is up to $40, with free admission to the revelry. For more information, go to shelterislandrun.com.
