Hicksville's Sushi Village closes

A Japanese eatery known for its all-you-can-eat sushi deals quietly closed this summer after 14 years in a former Hicksville diner. Sushi Village opened in 2012, as part of a small group with locations in Bayside, Queens, and Westwood, New Jersey, Newsday previously reported. It was based in the home of the former Beverly Diner. 

But now a sign posted to the business' door reads: "We are deeply grateful for your support, kindness and loyalty throughout the years. It has been a pleasure to share so many meals, celebrations and memories with you and your families. Thank you for being a part of our journey. We will always cherish the friendships and memories made here." 

The last day of business was noted as June 28.

The parking lot was empty Wednesday morning and the business was blocked by a yellow chain. The interior was empty, with no tables or chairs remaining. An all-you-can-eat sign still advertised $30.99 weekday and $32.99 weekend deals. The owners could not immediately be reached for comment.
