Imagine two scrambled eggs layered with ham and melted Gouda atop a rosemary roll dressed with arugula and tomato, and you’ve got one of the new breakfast sandwiches at Thyme on Your Side Artisan Market and Cafe in Bethpage.
The new menu
features about a dozen variations on the egg sandwich as well as steel-cut oatmeal and pancakes. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. and costs from $1.99 to $7. Breakfast is available all day.
Kristina Grimes opened the cafe/takeout spot about a year ago with a focus on lunch: a menu of soups, sandwiches, grilled cheese and salads. Customers can order at the counter and grab a seat among the handful of tables, or they can order off the menu for takeout.
Saturday offers another reason to visit, since Thyme on Your Side hosts a farmers market in the parking lot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For now, you’ll find a farmer selling herbs, seedlings and houseplants along with a smattering of local vendors. Based on last year’s market, Grimes expects she’ll have two farmers selling plants and produce, and five to 10 vendors by peak season.
Thyme on Your Side is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
