Toscanini Ristorante Italiano in Port Washington sprung into action immediately after the recent earthquake that devastated Amatrice and other nearby Italian villages, adding Spaghetti all’Amatriciana to the menu and donating a portion of the profits to the Italian Red Cross.

On Sunday, Sept. 25th, the restaurant is hosting an all-day fundraiser, with proceeds again going to the Italian Red Cross’s relief efforts.

Says owner Freddie Sadiku, “I think of all of the people who have no houses, no food, no medicine. This is something where the damage is so big. I hope that a lot of other people will get involved in helping.”

A special $49.95 prix fixe menu will be served, including a choice of appetizers (calamari, mussels posillipo, stuffed mushrooms), salad, entrée (spaghetti al’Amatriciana, veal Toscana, chicken di Luca over spinach, chicken pomodoro, tilapia francese or piccata), and cheesecake or tiramisu for dessert. Reservations are recommended.

The event runs 1:30 to 10 p.m.
