The Wantagh Dairy Mart will open soon in the former Lighthouse Dairy Mart in Wantagh, which closed in 2024.

Self-described serial entrepreneur Alan Jacoby and his business partner, Justin Heath, of the Jones Beach Deli in Wantagh, closed on the purchase Tuesday. They are working on bringing back "that old-school nostalgic Dairy Barn vibe," to the drive-thru on Wantagh Avenue, Jacoby said. He plans to open in August.

"We’re not doing a boutique coffee drive-thru store; that’s not what this is going to be," he said.

Offerings will include cold cuts, iced coffee, cold brew, iced teas, desserts and grab-and-go prepared sandwiches from Jones Beach Deli. Some grocery items will also be available.

Renovations will begin as early as next week, Jacoby said.

"Everything is going to get a face-lift," he said. Aside from painting the space and landscaping, they will also be doing minor repairs and updating some of the equipment including the security system and refrigerators.

This opening comes on the heels of the rise in popularity of drive-thru coffee experiences. Elsewhere, five former Dairy Barns on Long Island scheduled to become Ready Coffees by the end of the summer. The Barn in Merrick has also seen an expansion, with locations in East Northport, Patchogue, Huntington, Ronkonkoma, Center Moriches, Massapequa and Seaford, Newsday previously reported.

The Wantagh Dairy Mart is hoping to start hiring in the next couple of weeks, Jacoby said.

"We were both from Wantagh and we wanted to bring it back to the community roots," he said.
