Zagat 2013 NYC Survey: Mais oui, Le Bernardin again No. 1

Once more, the French have planted their culinary flag atop the New York City restaurant scene — at least according to the food ratings published in the 2013 Zagat Survey of New York City Restaurants. Hardly a revolution, though, this year’s burgundy book presents only a slight reshuffling of last year’s winners, all serving Gallic fare.
For the third year standing, Eric Ripert, chef-owner of Le Bernardin in midtown Manhattan, comes out as crème de la crème, his high-end French seafood restaurant once again claiming top food rating.
Per Se, Thomas Keller’s elegant and expensive French-New American spot in the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle, returns to second place, while Bouley, David Bouley’s French TriBeCa restaurant, rises one notch to the No. 3 spot, trading places with Daniel, chef Daniel Boulud’s New French East side restaurant, now claimant of the No. 4 position.
In 5th place is Eleven Madison Park, featuring the New French cuisine of chef Daniel Humm. It moves up a notch from last year, when it was in 6th place.
