Tip: Low-cost computer training
SeniorNet, which offers low-cost
computer training for adults 50 and older, is holding a free open house at two locations where it will preview its courses for the spring semester.
The Yaphank Training Center open house is Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The Huntington Training Center's open house is March 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Classes begin April 4 and run for eight weeks.
Those with intermediate to advanced computer skills may want to attend a free seminar at SeniorNet's Huntington office. "Windows 7, Office 2010 and the Cloud" looks at features of two updated programs and provides an introduction to "cloud computing," where you store your files and get your software from a location other than your computer.
The seminar is March 15, 3:30-5 p.m. For more information on the seminar or SeniorNet's spring classes, go to senior netli.org or call 631-427-3700, ext. 268.
