Looking for something to do Wednesday afternoon? If you're going to find yourself in the Shelter Island area, check out the Garden Club's standard flower show and house tour from 2:00-5:30 p.m. at the Historical Society's Havens House and Barn (Route 114).

The show, "Art in Bloom," is based on the relationship of art to nature and features work by local artists Janet Culbertson, Olive Reich, Mike Zisser, Roz Dimon, Nelson White, Kirsten Lewis, Nidia D'Alessandro and Bob Markell. Categories include horticulture design -- novice, artistic craft -- adult, and artistic craft -- youth.

There are three houses on the tour, as well, each sporting floral arrangements created by Garden Club members and tied to a famous artist's work.

Got an entry of your own? The Horticulture Division of the Show is open to the gardening public. Entries should be submitted to Havens House Barn on July 20 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (For details, call Christine Cunningham, 631-749-0024, or Marcia Byington, 631-749-3463.)

Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 day of the show and include admission to Havens House and Barn exhibits and entrance into the three Shelter Island home tours. Call Charlotte Hannabury 631-749-0168 for ticket information.
