This Working Group dog is known for its high energy and muscular build. They originated in Germany and bred from the Old English bulldog and the now-extinct Bullenbeisser.

Surprisingly, the French bulldog actually originated in England and were used during the Industrial Revolution in lace factories as companions to workers. The breed has a mixed reputation and is banned from certain states, countries and airlines due to their sometimes aggressive behavior. Many believe their temperament is set during their upbringing; if an owner trains the dog properly, it will be loving, compassionate and loyal.
