A Brentwood man has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident last September in Central Islip, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Junior Romero-Delcid, 27, fatally struck a bicyclist on Sept. 25 and left the scene.

He was arraigned Tuesday in Suffolk County Court in Riverhead and was released with non-monetary conditions, records show.  His attorney could not be immediately reached for comment.

Bicyclist Felix Cesi Oliva Cruz, 65, of Bay Shore, was riding north across East Suffolk Avenue at Lowell Avenue in Central Islip at about 6:30 a.m. when he was struck by two eastbound vehicles — a dark-colored sport utility vehicle and a white sedan.

Drivers of both vehicles then fled, police said.

Oliva Cruz was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Romero-Delcid was driving the white Honda Civic that struck Oliva Cruz.

Detectives are still searching for the driver of the SUV and ask anyone with information about the other vehicle and driver to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555. All calls will remain confidential.
