Suffolk County police are investigating a Monday night stabbing in Bay Shore.

A man, 29, was walking on East Forks Road at about 8:35 p.m. when an unknown man approached him, stabbing him in the neck, a police spokeswoman said.

The victim, of Brentwood, told police he then ran to the Westfield South Shore mall to seek help, and officers responded, the spokeswoman said.

He was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Anyone with more information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All information will be kept confidential.
