A drunken driver crashed his vehicle into a convenience store Thursday night, Riverhead Town police said.

The vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, hit Riverhead Stationary on East Main Street about 9:30 p.m., police said.

The driver, whose name was not released, was not hurt and was charged with drunken driving, police said.

No one answered the phone at the store, which sells groceries, beer and lottery tickets, according to its sign.

Police did not immediately release other details Thursday night.
