Suffolk County police arrested a man Friday who they said had evaded officers trying to pull him over for driving 130 mph on the Long Island Expressway five days earlier, according to a news release from the agency.

Matthew Serritella, 21, was arrested at his home in Coram just before 8 p.m. Police said that on June 22, Serritella had fled from members of the Street Takeover Task Force after he was observed speeding while headed east on the expressway in Ronkonkoma around 11 p.m. The headlights of Serritella's 2004 Infinity sedan were also off, police said.

Serritella was able to get away from police by taking Exit 61 and heading southbound on Patchogue-Holbrook Road, police said.

Police charged Serritella with reckless driving and fleeing from police. He was also issued 13 summonses and his vehicle was impounded, police said.

It was not clear Saturday if he was represented by an attorney. A relative of Serritella's declined to comment when contacted by Newsday.

Serritella is due in First District Court in Central Islip on July 17.
