A teen from Noyack was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries after the unlicensed dirt bike he was driving illegally on an unlighted main road collided with a car Monday, Southampton Town police said.

The crash occurred on Noyack Road at 5:37 p.m.

Police did not release the identity of the dirt bike rider, 15, and only identified the other driver, a man, 24, from Montauk. Police said that driver was not injured in the crash.

It is illegal to drive a dirt bike on the street. The bike, an off-road motorcycle, not only was unregistered, police said, it had no headlights. The road was described by police as being “a dark, unlighted road.”

The dirt bike collided with a Honda sedan that was making a left turn off Noyack Road.

No summonses were issued.

The accident remains under investigation.
