Suffolk County police are investigating the stabbing of a 17-year-old in a Huntington Station park on Monday evening, less than three weeks after two teens were stabbed in the hamlet.

Around 7:15 p.m., the teen became involved in a fight with another male at Manor Field Park at East Fifth Street and Lenox Road, receiving a superficial stab wound to his torso, police said.

He was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.

The incident comes about three weeks after two boys, ages 14 and 17, were stabbed during an altercation near the Huntington Manor Fire Department's fair, police said.

Both were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The specifics of the injuries weren’t disclosed.

In a statement, Huntington Supervisor Ed Smyth described the stabbings as "extremely concerning."

Smyth said the town will enhance patrols of its public safety officers in and around parks. "The safety of our community is of paramount concern to the town and we will do everything within our power to keep our parks and public spaces a safe place for all our residents," he said.
