Suffolk County police are investigating a shooting in Wyandanch that left a Brentwood teenager with serious injuries on Sunday, authorities said.

At 2:37 p.m., Suffolk police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired on Parkway Boulevard, near Russell Street in Wyandanch, police said. Officers on the scene located shell casings and evidence of a shooting but no victims.

At an area hospital, about 20 minutes later, staff reported a teenager with a gunshot wound in the emergency room at 2:58 p.m. Police said a 2013 Toyota RAV4, with several men in the vehicle, dropped off a 17-year-old male with serious injuries. The abandoned RAV4, which had been reported stolen, was later located with bullet holes in Bay Shore at about 7 p.m., police said.

There were no updates available on the teen's condition and police did not disclose his name. No arrests had been made in connection with the shooting as of Monday afternoon, police said.

Police ask that anyone with information contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
