Nassau County detectives said they are investigating a robbery in Bayville that took place May 5, but was not reported until days later.

The victims, 15 and 16 years old, were walking on Godfrey Avenue near East Slope Road at 9:15 a.m. May 5 when two men got out of a vehicle and approached them, police said Thursday.

One of the robbers had a knife and the other had a handgun, police said. They fled after taking a knife from one of the victims, police said.

Detectives asked anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
