Long Island water suppliers, along with those across the country, have been tracking down which houses still have lead service lines and have submitted their initial surveys to the state health department. This interactive map, based on that data, allows you to zoom in on a particular neighborhood, street, and property to see if the service lines are lead, galvanized or if the material is still unknown.

EPA regulations require water suppliers to continue their efforts to identify lead pipes and update their inventories every year. All those lead pipes, and all galvanized pipes that are connected or might once have been connected to lead, must be removed and replaced by 2037.
