William Walker, born March 10, 1911, in Poland, is one of 15 children -- still alive are siblings Jack Walker, Florence Sofer and Debbie Moskovitz. At 9, he came to America with his family and settled in the Bronx. He served during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He was married to Esther, now deceased, for 50 years. They moved from the Bronx to Long Beach, where they lived for 40 years. He worked as a Fuller Brush manager in Manhattan. After retiring he moved to Deerfield Beach, Fla., and at 75 learned to play tennis. He has two children and four grandchildren: Lori, Stacy, Cory and David. He lives at the Hebrew Home for the Aged in Riverdale where he enjoys singing. He celebrated his birthday there at a party with family.
