Michael DeLillo, of Levittown, has received the 2023 Chef Educator of the Year Award from the American Culinary Federation for his dedication and service to career education and special education on both the high school and middle school levels. DeLillo is a freelance chef with Prime Fine Catering, in Garden City, who has also worked as an adjunct professor for Monroe College in New Rochelle and been a private instructor at the Viking Culinary Arts Center in Garden City. He also was one of 12 educators statewide to help develop and revise New York’s culinary arts curriculum; has run a podcast called Life Lessons: A Chef’s Insights; and has been involved with the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Nassau County and the Michael Magro Foundation.
