A teenaged bicyclist was badly hurt and hospitalized after he collided with another vehicle in Miller Place, a Suffolk County Police Department spokesperson said.
The crash occurred on State Route 25A about 3:25 p.m., the spokesperson told Newsday via email.
The teen, who police did not identify, was transported to a hospital “in serious condition,” the spokesperson said.
Additional information, including the identity of the driver involved in the collision and what might have led to the crash, was not immediately available Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred within eight hours of a bicyclist being struck and killed in a hit-and-run on Beech Street in Atlantic Beach. The driver, who Nassau police have only identified as a woman, was arrested soon after the crash, Newsday previously reported.
